Dear women, this time I am coming with a new post dedicated especially for you. In case you are already a Christian lady, then this message applies for you, as well. After all, there is always something new to learn when it comes to being a devoted woman and wife in the Lord. Let me start by a wonderful passage in
Proverbs 12:4, "A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband: [...]"
I left out on purpose the rest of the verse, since it describes the opposite type of woman. I am going to talk about it in my next study, but let us focus on the beautiful things the Lord has to say about a faithful godly woman. I take it that you have been striving to be as close as possible to the Lord's heart, that you are doing everything to please Him and those around you by setting a godly example. Let's begin...
Notice that the virtuous wife is likened to a CROWN... Maybe you haven't given it that much thought, but stop and reflect upon this verse for a moment... What is a crown? Who wears a crown? Is it valuable? Where can it be found? How is it designed? These are all general questions a woman should ask herself when it comes to her being likened with a crown, because crowns are the most expensive types of jewels in the world, and only the kings and queens wear them. Crowns are usually made of gold, with pearls and special stones, diamonds, etc. (depending on the type of crown), so they are priceless in value. Besides, in glory we are given crowns as rewards for the service we rendered to God as a result of being saved. In the Bible there are 5 types of crowns (The Crown of Righteousness - 2 Timothy 4:8; The Crown of Life - James 1:12, Revelation 2:10; The Crown of Glory - 1 Peter 5:4; The Incorruptible Crown - 1 Corinthians 9:25; The Crown of Rejoicing - 1 Thessalonians 2:19). The Lord Jesus Christ Himself has many crowns as decribed in the book of Revelation,
Revelation 19:12, "His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself."
Therefore, as we notice, crowns are extremely important, and if the word of God likens the virtuous woman with a crown, then there must be something! It means that a virtuous wife is hard to find. If she is a crown to her husband, then what a man would do with a crown is to show it off, "This is my wife!" When we think about the British economy, many state that it is dependable upon the British crown jewels not just because of their inherent value, but because of the history associated with them. If a man has a crown, people look to him, and if he has a virtuous wife who's a crown to him, everybody remarks it: they look up to the crown, so it adds to his esteem, it makes him feel important, appreciated, respected. There are women worth a million, but their value is close to a dime. Ladies, if you are saved, a servant of Christ, you are worth MORE THAN A MILLION, you are invaluable. Remember Sarah calling her husband "lord".
1 Peter 3:6, "Even as Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: whose daughters ye are, as long as ye do well, and are not afraid with any amazement."
She called Abraham "lord" not only because he was a good servant of God and her husband, but also for the fact that she was by his side as a godly woman. The men who have virtuous wives by their side would never trade them for anything in the world, and they won't trade you if you are a crown to them. If your man does not know your worth, rest assured that God already does if you are His.
If a woman is a crown to her husband, he'll adapt himself for her, because a man adapts himself toward what is placed on his head. That is a fact, and if you go back in history, the leading men of the past had good wives who supported them.
So, ladies, if you want to be rich, don't look for material things, but look to God; He can make you rich both figuratively and literally. BE A CROWN! At least, that's what my goal is!
With Christ's love, riches and grace,
Denisa
