Are you the Lord's flower?

Flowers... the greatest, most genuine, delicate beatitude the Lord has created in this world. This is such a catchy subject for me from so many perspectives, because flowers are the most astonishing things that make me extremely beautiful. Several days ago, as I've been reading the Book of Exodus, I noticed that there were great descriptions of the the Lord's sanctuary, so it really made me think. Because of the lady-like topic, allow me to address to women the following question,

"Ladies, isn't it something that the Lord might like flowers, too?" Flowers are a leitmotif in the Bible - meaning the term is repeated throughout the scriptures, highlighting the importance of its meaning. Once in a while, "flower" is used with different meanings.

When the Lord commands Moses with great strictness about building up the sanctuary, He includes the flowers at a certain point, among so many beauties made up of gold, silver, and shittim wood.

Exodus 25:33 Three bowls made like unto almonds, [with] a knop and a flower in one branch; and three bowls made like almonds in the other branch, [with] a knop and a flower: so in the six branches that come out of the candlestick.

Exodus 37:19 Three bowls made after the fashion of almonds in one branch, a knop and a flower; and three bowls made like almonds in another branch, a knop and a flower: so throughout the six branches going out of the candlestick.

Flowers in God's sanctuary, according to His commandments... Wow. This is magnificent!

This is quite a neat verse! Jesus Himself makes reference to the image of flowers as a coverage of the field by comparison with a person who can be covered in the righteosness of God in faith.

Mathew 6:30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?

Guys, when your soul is clothed in God's righteosness that His Son offered for us, how much more can He give us in His will when we keep looking towards Him?

Also, flower in the Bible is used as a metaphor,

Psalms 51:7 Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.

Song of Solomon 2:1-I [am] the rose of Sharon, [and] the lily of the valleys.

Two different flowers in beauty and fragrance are fused together right in the same passage: rose and lily. Any flower is unique, with a natural tendency to grow and authentically speak to your eyes and senses... When a man respects a woman, he gives her flowers as his attention, respect, honour, and love towards her (whether in good or bad times). When you might experience difficulties, a simple glance at a flower, a delicate touch of its petals, or a simple smell of its fragrance works wonders and makes our hearts merrier.

Psalms 104:24 O LORD, how manifold are thy works! in wisdom hast thou made them all: the earth is full of thy riches.

This is a more generic passage, but it can apply to our current topic, too. Everything God created is abundant in riches, declaring His glory from the tiniest blade of grass till the most twinkling star in the sky and the surroundings thereof.

Sometimes, the Lord refers to flowers as an indication about our fallen nature: we are born, we grow, we marry, we make children, and we die. We should focus more on the things which are eternal.

Isaiah 40:8 The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.

Being in the flower of the age is so wonderful: you flourish, you bloom, you enjoy life, you are young, beautiful, full of life, until we are reminded of the curse and the fallen bodies we have,

Psalms 103:15-16[As for] man, his days [are] as grass: as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth.

Moreover, flower is also used as a comparison as we see in the scriptures,

Song of Solomon 2:2 As the lily among thorns, so [is] my love among the daughters.

This is a great connotation that refers to the children of light walking in a fallen, dark world. Bible believers are the light of the world, because they have the light in them - the Holy Ghost - and God is light. Being a flower among thorns is not easy: the path might be overlaid with overwhelming obstacles, but that is what makes this life unique IN THE LORD: it is the only way in which He can prove His supremacy in our lives full of trials.

Ladies, you might be in the flower of the age, or your spirit might have bloomed as never before in the Lord, but ask yourselves these questions in case you might not live for the Lord, or you feel you are not close to Him, "Is this life worth living for Christ? What kind of flower am I? Am I on good ground to bloom beautifully?"

Never compete with another person, just keep your eyes on JESUS THE CHRIST! He can feed you so that you can bloom like never before in His grace! Allow His fragrance to be released wherever you go.

With tender godly love,

Denisa
